About the role (What you’ll be doing)
Our Juniper Health Coaching team of Nutritionists and Dietitians are a critical capability for Eucalyptus in supporting our patients towards their health-related goals and outcomes. This is achieved by creating long-term engagement and relationships with our patients.
As a Health Coach Manager for our South African division, you will play a critical role in leading and managing the South African health coaching team to meet performance goals and ensure the smooth delivery of health coaching operations. This position involves managing a team of direct reports, and working closely with key stakeholders to maintain high standards of service delivery, optimising team performance, and driving customer satisfaction. You will ensure that the regional teams are aligned with our company's vision while fostering an inclusive, patient-centric, and results-driven culture.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of your team, including resource management, coaching your team, and ensuring that team processes meet our quality standards. A critical part of your job will be to oversee team performance, streamline onboarding processes, and drive continuous improvements to support long-term business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Team Capacity Management:
- Oversee the scheduling and rostering of team members, ensuring efficient resource planning across the region.
- Manage capacity risks, addressing interruptions such as sick leave and high meeting loads to maintain operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely resolution of any operational disruptions to keep day-to-day processes running smoothly.
- Individual Performance Management of Direct Reports:
- Regularly review performance metrics for your direct reports, providing feedback and coaching to ensure that KPIs and quality standards are met or exceeded.
- Address individual performance issues and work with team members to achieve continuous personal and professional development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide actionable insights to help direct reports improve.
- Onboarding and Training:
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding and training process for new hires, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for success.
- Facilitate regular training sessions to maintain high-quality service delivery standards.
- Lead your team by example, providing A+ coaching support and an excellent patient experience to your own caseload of patients.
- Cultural and Regional Development:
- Foster team cohesion through social events and create opportunities for staff to connect and collaborate.
- Implement regional-specific process improvements, focusing on hiring, training, and performance impacts tailored to the South African market.
- Maintain a strong company culture that reflects our values, ensuring high morale and engagement across the region.
You’ll be:
- A highly organised, detail-oriented leader with team management experience.
- Empathetic and patient-centric, with a deep understanding of customer engagement and operational success.
- Adaptable and able to navigate fast-paced and changing environments with ease.
- Skilled in communication, with the ability to effectively direct, train, and motivate team members.
- Confident in using technology and data to drive decisions and improve operations using Google Sheets and/or Excel.
Bonus Points for:
- At least 2-3 years of experience managing direct reports.
- Previous experience working in digital health.
- Previous experience in a start-up environment.
- Familiarity with managing performance metrics and delivering operational improvements.
